Sea Dogs Double Up Moose....

The Halifax Mooseheads had their chances to knock off the Sea Dogs Saturday night in front of 8,680 fans at the Metro Centre, but  a five goal barrage by the Sea Dogs in the second period would be their undoing. The Sea Dogs went on to win 6-3.
Jonathan Huberdeau, Zack Phillips, Stephen Anderson, Oliver Cooper, Pierre Durepos and Kevin Gagne scored for the Sea Dogs. Nathan MacKinnon had a pair of goals for the Mooseheads and Matthew Boudreau scored one.
Former Moosehead Mathieu Corbeil stopped 19 shots for Saint John and Zachary Fucale made 28 saves for Halifax.
The Mooseheads led 2-1 after the first period but gave up two goals in the first 1:44 of the second period. The Sea Dogs added two more goals before the period was over to take a 5-3 lead. Saint John then tightened up defensively in the third period and clinched the win with an empty-net goal. It’s the second loss in a row for the Mooseheads, who only managed to get 11 shots in the final two periods.
Saint John out shot Halifax 34-22.
